Help Guide the Future!
The Town of Yucca Valley is updating its General Plan and is seeking input from everyone
in the community.
What is a General Plan?
A General Plan is a set of long-term goals and policies that decision makers will use
to guide growth in the Town of Yucca Valley for the next several decades. General Plans
address a variety of issues including land use, housing, economic development, community
design, transportation, open space, parks and recreation, infrastructure, natural
resources, public safety and noise. State law requires that every City or Town adopt
a General Plan.
The Towns current General Plan was last adopted in 1995. Over time, the needs
and values of the community may have changed. Updating the General Plan is an opportunity
for the Town to comprehensively evaluate the communitys priorities and aspirations.
The General Plan will also develop strategies to sustain the quality of life and economic
prosperity desired by Town residents and businesses. The General Plan will create a
contemporary vision for the future that reflects the local values of residents, businesses,
and Town officials.
We need your ideas!
We are enthusiastic about initiating the General Plan Update and we cannot undertake
this significant effort without input from a critical partner YOU! Several
community workshops are planned throughout the course of the General Plan Update to
capture your great ideas and aspirations for the community. What makes the Town of
Yucca Valley unique? What do you like about the Town and what do you think could be
improved? What should Yucca Valley be like in the next twenty to thirty years? Your
answers to these and other questions will shape the vision and goals of the General
Plan. This is your opportunity to share your insights and shape the future of
the community!

Town Hall Forum at the right to see what other people are saying about the
