What Do I Need to Know to Be a Youth Sports Coach?
A basic knowledge and understanding of the sport. League coordinators will provide the necessary tools and training to help you teach the sport to your players.
How Much Time Does It Take?
One hour practices are held two to three times per week. Games are held one to two times per week. From the first practice to the last game, each season lasts three to four months.
Why Should I Coach?
Currently, in the United States, 70% of kids drop out of youth sports by age 13. The primary reason given is that it’s not fun anymore. By coaching, you are given the chance to make a positive influence on a child’s life. The benefits kids gain from youth sports are abundant and life-long.
Marine Corps Volunteers will receive a letter of appreciation detailing their volunteer hours.
